- learn how to prepare sencha et al using a kyusu 横手の急須 -make origami box for senbei 煎餅 (rice crackers)
- write the Japanese kanji 漢字 (character) for cha (tea) 茶.
Your guide,LaMonte Heflick,is a Certified Saké Professional (ASP Saké Education Council Feb 2014). Also, a tea enthusiast, LaMonte has done presentations on tea in the Elkhart middle schools, as well as, for the Indiana Foreign Language Teachers Association in Indianapolis, IN. For two years LaMonte lived and worked in Japan at Toyota トヨタ自動車. Before retiring he was a speech-language pathologist in Elkhart, Indiana and taught Introduction to Japanese and Chinese languages.
